“It was a weird race”, with these words Franco Morbidelli comments the last competition in Germany, where he got a 7th place as the best of the Italian riders. The number 21 of the Petronas Yamaha SRT is now getting ready to take the second part of the season in crescendo, while his team is getting ready to welcome Marc Marquez, the Repsol Honda rider who is now the leader in the world ranking.

“I was in the biggest group, racing for the podium”, Morbidelli says. “But I couldn’t attack and I wasn’t in the condition to catch up. I tried to manage tyres but, even so, they wore out and I lost my position”.

We finished in the top-ten, but my feelings during the competition were extremely different from the ones during free practice. Now we have time to relax and study data, so that in Brno we will pick up where we left off, coming up with new ideas” – he concludes.
